Margo Jordens

Just like the train of her weekly commute, Margo often stands still and dwells on her own reflections. A quality that comes in handy as a clinical psychology student.

Sometimes, however, the speeding train of thoughts becomes a bit much.

Even now, Margo would normally have thought deeply about how best to present herself. but, arriving at the last stop, she decided not to do that this time and to speak straight from her heart, staying in line with the way she writes her poems.

Margo Jordens regularly takes her poetry journal to a local coffee shop, where she sits at a table and adds small drawings to her texts. She writes oldskool, with pen and paper. Because she likes to keep things simple: the more real and pure, the better.

The results can be seen on her Instagram page for a few years now. Recently, she also started sharing her poems in visual form. She wants to let her readers come closer to her inner self, and who knows, closer to their own inner self. Because as human beings, we are always connected in being alone.

The recurring theme throughout her writings is how she likes to refer to with the phrase "Please do touch" and with that she means on the inside, much more than on the outside. Because that is exactly where we as people can really touch each other.

“Bloot”

A group exhibition with 10 young artists all over Flanders. Curating the young brings photography, paintings, poetry... to the streets of Brussels, Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp and Hasselt.

What does "Bloot" mean? It's nakedness, in all its forms. Discover how the artists translate this theme each in their own way.

This exhibition was made possible by Curating The Young, a young and dynamic curatorial collective that makes space for up-and-coming talent. For five years now, they have been providing a stage for young artists.
