Jonas Reubens
Jonas has lived in Brussels for 2 years now, but he has lost his heart to the city a long time before that.
In addition to his full-time job and freelance work as a photographer, he is also part of Veduta (fka GROEF). Veduta is a collective that organizes events centered around bringing art and music together.
Meiser
Jonas Reubens has been recording everything with an analogue point and shoot camera for years. The photo was taken during an evening at the flat where the group of friends often ended up after a night out. He sees it as a direct reflection of his environment and group of friends at that time.
For Jonas, this work radiates an energy that was typical of the evenings out with his friends. There is a kind of intimacy in the photo on display. They are the very small moments of great happiness, almost pure euphoria. The work is therefore more about the friendship between people and how people can fully expose themselves to each other and be themselves. For Jonas, this is a photograph that he liked to look back at during the lockdowns because the corona crisis had made these moments rare and exceptional.

“Bloot”
A group exhibition with 10 young artists all over Flanders. Curating the young brings photography, paintings, poetry... to the streets of Brussels, Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp and Hasselt.
What does "Bloot" mean? It's nakedness, in all its forms. Discover how the artists translate this theme each in their own way.
This exhibition was made possible by Curating The Young, a young and dynamic curatorial collective that makes space for up-and-coming talent. For five years now, they have been providing a stage for young artists.
