Eady van Acker

Eady van Acker is an autonomous visual artist from Utrecht.

She questions the evolution of society and its growing separation from the natural world by examining the connections between synthetic, organic and digital worlds.

Eady focuses on speculative stories and images that seem to come from an alternate reality or hybrid timeline.

By forming connections between biology, fantasy, futurism and playing on the border between organic and manufactured, she sometimes no longer knows where she is.

This creates a work full of fragmented stories that show different realities and form the starting point for one collective journey.

The New Species

"The New Species" is an alternative image of a fictional humanoid body. You see a kind of synthetic skin depicted. The humanoid body looks like us, yet it’s different. The work was created while speculating about alternative ways humans could possibly evolve.

“Bloot”

A group exhibition with 10 young artists all over Flanders. Curating the young brings photography, paintings, poetry... to the streets of Brussels, Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp and Hasselt.

What does "Bloot" mean? It's nakedness, in all its forms. Discover how the artists translate this theme each in their own way.

This exhibition was made possible by Curating The Young, a young and dynamic curatorial collective that makes space for up-and-coming talent. For five years now, they have been providing a stage for young artists.
